On October 10, WPAOG presented the 2024 Alexander R. Nininger Award for Valor at Arms to MAJ Floren Herrera ’13 of the Philippine Army. Herrera, a leader in the Philippine Scout Rangers one of the most elite organizations in the Philippine military, has earned the Gold Cross (equivalent of the Silver Star), the Distinguished Conduct Star (equivalent of the Distinguished Service Cross across all U.S. services), and the wounded in combat medal. Cadets Attend World Affairs Council Global Security Forum

West Point cadets from the International Affairs Forum and Model UN team traveled to the World Affairs Council Global Security Forum hosted at Goodwin University in Hartford. The cadets attended panel discussions with policy experts and military leaders concerning security challenges to the US and NATO alliance. Read more.

WPAOG hosted a Parent Happy Hour at the First Class Club for Margin of Excellence leadership donors to the West Point Parents Fund to kick off Family Weekend. During the UAB game, Bonnie Gregson P’28, COL Brent Lechner ’93 & P’27, De’Aire Shannon P’26, and Joanna Vagner P’25 presented a check for $4.4 million to the Academy, the amount raised by parents this past year. The West Point Parents Fund supports Margin of Excellence programs which allow all cadets to reach their highest potential.
