West Point held the 22nd Annual Projects Day on April 29 to showcase the intellectual capital of cadets and their important work with faculty and external collaborators. This event also provides an opportunity to strengthen their role in the academic community, exercise self-reflection to deepen their knowledge base, and celebrate bold innovation. Cadet teams from all departments work with a faculty advisor to create unique and useful approaches to solving problems. This year, cadets entered 319 projects and over 800 cadets presented. This project produces a superior Challenge Coin with the West Point crest on one side and the class crest on the reverse with the class motto, R-Day and Graduation dates. The coins are relatively inexpensive keepsakes that parents use to give to grandparents, family, and friends. In 2021, over 33,000 coins were sold. All of the money’s generated have been used as starter funds for the respective classes and maintained by WPAOG in their class treasury. This starter fund has averaged $30,000 per year over the past several years. The West Point Parents Club has a regular membership of over 200 families and well over 300 Alumni Associate members, making it one of the largest active West Point Parents Clubs.
