The 221st Founders Day
In celebration of USMA’s Founders Day, Erica Jeffries Purdo ’98, addressed the Corps of Cadets for Founders Day at dinner last night in the Mess Hall. Erica leads the Pharmacy Channel for The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson in the Strategic Customer Group. She served as a Blackhawk pilot in the 4th Aviation Brigade, 4th ID at Fort Hood, TX and spent five years on active duty before being medically retired in 2003. She is a current member of the WPAOG Board of Directors with a goal of uniting graduates and building upon the common thread that binds them all – the Long Gray Line.

For Country We Commit '26!
Congratulations to the Class of 2026 who proudly unveiled their class crest during Plebe Parent Weekend! In addition to parents and guests, two members from the 50-Year Affiliate Class of 1976, LTC (R) Steve Dietrich and MAJ (R) Randy Morgan, were in attendance to celebrate this milestone with the class.

BDE Boxing Open
The 67th annual Army West Point Brigade Boxing Open took place at Crest Hall. Highlights included nine action-packed bouts representing 14 companies across the Corps of Cadets. Winners will advance to the National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA) regionals scheduled for March 10-12 in Connecticut and the NCBA Nationals from April 13-15 in North Carolina. Winners were:

A/C Training Weekend
Cadets had a cold and busy A/C training weekend ahead of spring break as they began preparations for summer training! Cadet companies G4 and I4 conducted qualifying road marches for those that will attend Air Assault School, while others conducted call for fire training in the West Point Simulations Center.

Class of ’52 Lecture Series
SOSH and WPAOG presented the Class of 1952 Distinguished Guest Lecture featuring Jen Easterly ’90, Director, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. The lecture supported the Dean’s intellectual theme on civil-military relations by highlighting the importance of partners across the government and private sector. Opportunities like these are made possible by the Margin of Excellence. Watch the recording.

MX400 Instructors on the Podcast
This week’s episode features a discussion between LTC Tom Dull, MAJ(P) Ben Elliott ’07, MAJ Marc Meybaum ’12, and CPT Brian Martinez. These officers have conducted research on the Army profession and are Instructors of MX400: Officership, a class on the oath of office for first class cadets, at West Point. Listen in as they discuss the origin and history of the oath of commissioned officers, relive stories of their own commissioning ceremonies, and discuss the importance of teaching the value of trust and honor to first class cadets at West Point. Support the West Point Parents Fund
The West Point Parents Fund (WPPF) provides essential unrestricted funding that strengthens the Margin of Excellence (MoE) at West Point. The 2023 WPPF campaign launched this month with a letter from Mike Krzyzewski ‘69, who said, “The foundation of leadership I learned as a cadet not only shaped me as a player and a coach, but also as a son, brother, husband, and father. More than 50 years after graduation, I firmly believe that West Point is the greatest leadership school in the world.” Learn more.

Women’s Lacrosse Ranked #13
Following a win at Boston University, Army West Point Women's Lacrosse (7-0) moved up again in the polls this week! The Black Knights gained another win this week against Siena College with an 18-14 victory. Army will hit the road to take on Holy Cross this Saturday at 1pm on ESPN+. Read more.

A-N Men’s Rugby Game Changed
The 2022 D1A National Champion Army West Point Men's Rugby team will now take on Navy at the Anderson Rugby Complex on Friday, March 24 at 7pm where they will be presented the MacArthur Cup. Listen to Head Coach Matt Sherman talk about defending the national championship title and leading cadets to be successful so they leave behind distinguished legacies from their time at West Point.
