West Point Celebrates 220th Founders Day

West Point Celebrates 220th Founders Day

On March 16, 1802, President Thomas Jefferson signed legislation founding the United States Military Academy, creating one of the oldest military service academies in the world. Throughout March, West Point Societies across the globe are celebrating the founding of our Rockbound Highland Home. Check out a video from WPAOG’s President and CEO Todd Browne ’85 and watch other videos provided by WPAOG to support your Societies’ celebrations here.

WPAOG Thanks You!

  WPAOG Thanks You!

In 2021, the Long Gray Line and friends and families of West Point gave with loyalty, with generosity, and with unwavering support, raising $55.3 million in cash receipts for the Academy and WPAOG. Your gifts and participation strengthen the Academy’s Margin of Excellence programs for cadets, sustain the traditions that pay tribute to generations of West Point graduates, and allow for new opportunities that would not have been possible otherwise.   Class of 2025 Unveils Class Crest

The Class of 2025 crest unveiling occurred in the Mess Hall during the Plebe Parent Banquet on March 5, with nearly 2,000 parents and guests in attendance. Class officers explained the crest's intricate details and symbology, which will represent their class in perpetuity. Four members of the 50-Year-Affiliate Class of 1975 attended the event and presented the Class of 2025 with a framed copy of the ’75 crest, from which they drew significant inspiration for their design. The 50-Year Affiliates in attendance were: Dr. William F. Crain, COL (R) Thomas R. Noreen, COL (R) Richard A. Hoefert, and COL (R) John M. Uhorchak. Read more.

Call for West Point Challenge Ambassadors!

From May 1-5, 2022, the West Point Challenge (WPC) will take the place of the All Academy Challenge and will now allow former cadets, friends, surviving spouses, and parents to join in on the fun and competition. This year, we also invite you to become a #WestPointChallenge Ambassador. West Point Challenge Ambassadors help create excitement about the WPC both before and during the challenge—not only by making a personal gift but also by encouraging others to get involved. Ambassadors who secure three donors (themselves and two others) through their Custom Giving Link will receive an exclusive pair of Army “A” socks! All you need is You + 2! Learn more.

Dawkins '59, who said, “As another year begins, I reflect on the powerful ability of the Long Gray Line to come together in support of one another and to serve our nation.
