Nininger Award

  Maj. Floren Herrera ’13
   

WPAOG is pleased to announce that Maj. Floren Herrera ’13 has been selected to receive the 2024 Alexander R. Nininger Award for Valor at Arms, which will be presented at West Point on October 10. 1st Lt. Herrera demonstrated extraordinary bravery and leadership as Executive Officer of the 2nd Scout Ranger Company, 1st Scout Ranger Battalion, Philippine Army, during the Battle of Marawi (June 12–Oct 16, 2017), fighting against 1,000 foreign militants and local terrorists aligned with ISIS.
