Nininger Award
WPAOG is pleased to announce that Maj. Floren Herrera ’13 has been selected to receive the 2024 Alexander R. Nininger Award for Valor at Arms, which will be presented at West Point on October 10. 1st Lt. Herrera demonstrated extraordinary bravery and leadership as Executive Officer of the 2nd Scout Ranger Company, 1st Scout Ranger Battalion, Philippine Army, during the Battle of Marawi (June 12–Oct 16, 2017), fighting against 1,000 foreign militants and local terrorists aligned with ISIS. Graduates Receive Rosette at the Honolulu Vietnam Memorial

Kick Off of CONNECT
WPAOG’s Hudson Valley Program (HVP) CONNECT Initiative launched its third year at the Highland Falls Intermediate School on September 16. CONNECT is a free after-school program for children grades 2-8 that complements the HVP Economic Development Initiative to help revitalize, strengthen, and improve West Point neighbor communities.
