Army West Point Football to Join AAC
Army Athletics announced Football will join the American Athletic Conference (AAC). The move to join the AAC is for Football only. Other Army West Point sport programs will remain a part of their respective conferences. Army Football has been previously played as an independent program in every season of its existence since 1890, except for a seven-season stretch where they were a member of Conference USA (1998-2004). Fall Major Fair
The Class of 2027 spent time discovering West Point’s 36 majors and 19 minor options across the 15 academic departments at the first major fair of the year. Cadets are encouraged to engage with family, academic advisors, instructors, and mentors to ensure their choice of major aligns with their interests and aspirations. Another fair will be held in January and cadets will have until March to make their decisions. Learn more.

Leaders Never Arrive with GEN (R) Miller ’83
In honor of 30 years since the Battle of Mogadishu, COL Sean Morrow ’01, Director of the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point sat down with 2023 DGA awardee GEN (R) Miller to talk about his experiences as a task force ranger, as the commander of the Maneuver Center of Excellence, the final commander of NATO's Resolute Support Mission and U.S. Forces in Afghanistan, and his continuous involvement in West Point after transitioning out of the military. West Point Marathon Team
The West Point Marathon Team traveled to the 39th Annual Army Ten Miler on October 6-8. They fielded two teams of eight Cadets from all classes. The team prevailed to win both 1st and 2nd place in the Service Academy/ROTC Division. Cadet Jake Pinuelas ’24 provided life-saving efforts at approximately mile two of the course when he observed a fellow runner who needed medical attention. Thanks to the West Point Society of D.C. and the West Point Parents Club of Maryland, D.C. and Virginia that supported the team before and after the race. Read more.

WPAOG Hosts Superintendent’s Circle Weekend
WPAOG was honored to host members of the Superintendent’s Circle October 13 and 14 at the annual Superintendent’s Circle Weekend. The weekend included a Friday evening dinner at Herbert Hall with members of the USMA and WPAOG Leader Teams, and the Army-Troy football game on Saturday. The Superintendent’s Circle Weekend recognized all donors who made gifts of $2,500 or more to the Superintendent’s Annual Fund or the West Point Parents Fund in 2022. 3-2-1 Lift Off
Cadets from USMA Army Rocketry and Engineering Sciences (ARES), a student-led STEM research group, visited WPAOG’s outreach program CONNECT to launch rockets with students in grades 3-6. West Point has nearly 120 cadet clubs, including athletic, recreational, academic, religious, hobby, and diversity clubs – something for virtually every interest, made possible by donors supporting the Margin Of Excellence. West Point Press Annual Report
The West Point Press serves as the internal publishing arm of the Academy to showcase scholarly work produced by USMA faculty and cadets. The Press accomplished a great deal in fiscal year 2023, the first year of operation, including publishing books, journals, reports from conferences involving Academy faculty, conference proceedings, a white paper, and digital textbook. The West Point Press is a Margin of Excellence fundraising priority. Read the annual report.

Class of 2003 Sets Record
In a collective effort, classes engage in fundraising campaigns in the years leading up to a milestone reunion. At the reunion, the class gift is presented and recognized by the Academy. During the Troy game, Mr. John F. Gillen III, Class President, and LTC Justin R. Henry ARNG, Class Vice President, presented a 20th Reunion Gift of $502,003 on behalf of the Class of 2003. The gift will support the Cyber & Engineering Academic Center (CEAC) and the Cyber Research Center. Over 60% of the class participated in contributions to the gift—a new record! Thank you to “Protectors of the Free” Class of 2003!
