SOSH Hosts SCUSA
This year, the Class of ’71 Student Conference on U.S. Affairs (SCUSA) brought together 200 cadet and student delegates from more than 100 institutions and 20 countries to examine the conference theme "American Foreign Policy in an Era of Polarized Politics and Revisionist Powers." Over three days, panel members shared valuable insight on challenges and cadets and delegates engaged in discussion to forge the next era in civil-military relations. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the United States Representative to the United Nations, delivered the keynote address. View photos.

Fall Sandhurst
Congratulations to the 36 Sandhurst teams who gave it their all during the Fall Sandhurst competition. The top ten teams will go on to compete in the international military skills competition in the spring. View Results. Watch Video.

Michie Stadium Preservation Project
The Michie Stadium Preservation Project, the most ambitious gift-funded construction project in the history of USMA, is progressing towards reaching the targeted goal of $145 million, with the aim of construction beginning in the summer of 2023 and completion by the first home Army football game in 2025. In addition to the reconstruction of the East Stands, a new 162,000-square-foot structure, the Athletic Center of Excellence (ACE), features amenities such as premium suites, loge boxes, ledge seats, club-level seating areas, expanded and improved concessions and will provide offices and spaces to showcase Army West Point cadet-athletes. Mullane Visits with CONNECT
Astronaut Mike Mullane ’67 visited CONNECT while in town for his 55th class reunion to share his inspirational story to Highland Falls students. Mullane commissioned into the Air Force, serving as a Weapon Systems Operator aboard RF-4C Phantom aircraft and completed 134 combat missions in Vietnam. In 1978, Mullane was selected as a Mission Specialist in the first group of Space Shuttle Astronauts. He completed three space missions aboard the Shuttles Discovery and Atlantis before retiring from NASA and the Air Force in 1990. Learn more.

Women’s Rugby
Army West Point Women's Rugby closed out the regular season with a 40-17 victory over Sacred Heart at Anderson Rugby Complex. Army will travel to Harvard on November 12 for a National Semifinal. Mark Your Calendars for Basketball
Eighteen Patriot League basketball games will be televised on CBS Sports Network during the 2022-23 season. The Patriot League slate begins on January 9, when Army hosts defending champion Colgate. CBS Sports Network will carry both Army West Point-Navy men’s and women’s basketball doubleheaders on January 21. The teams will square off again in Annapolis on February 11. Read more.

Grads Helping Grads
WPAOG's Grads Helping Grads program is seeking graduates interested in assisting other graduates who are transitioning from the military.
In the spirit of fulfilling WPOAG’s vision to be the most highly connected alumni body in the world, the Grads Helping Grads program offers members of the Long Gray Line a way to stay connected and it also offers helpful information and resources to graduates when they are transitioning. Use Your IRA to Make a Charitable Contribution
Once you are 70 ½ or older, a charitable IRA rollover is an easy way to make a gift to West Point and the Long Gray Line. Transfer up to $100,000 directly to WPAOG from your IRA and pay no income tax on the distribution. Please check with your tax or financial advisor to see if this type of gift is right for you.
