Families visiting West Point now have a new transportation option, thanks to a generous donation by Timothy (Tim) and Janice Surdyke through the Cadet Thomas Surdyke Memorial Foundation Endowment. The gift of a six-passenger golf cart this fall was in honor of their son, Thomas (Tom) Surdyke, a member of the Class of 2019, who died in June 2016 saving the life of a drowning stranger. Pictured are the Surdykes with Kristin Sorenson, Shelisa Baskerville, Mark Bieger ’91, and Pat Ortland ’82, from WPAOG. Read more.

Save the Date: Giving Tuesday at West Point

  Giving Tuesday

On November 28, WPAOG will be taking part in Giving Tuesday—a global day of celebrating and encouraging philanthropy. Please consider joining us in celebrating this day of giving through a gift to West Point. Donations are essential to support additional developmental programs for cadets that go beyond the core elements to create the Margin of Excellence, including hands-on and out-of-classroom leadership experiences, semester abroad opportunities, club and athletic team endowments, and improvements to West Point.

500 Industry Advisors and Counting

  WPAOG Career Services

Last week, Career Services hit another remarkable milestone: 500 Career Navigator Industry Advisors! In this Sallyport community, grads can connect with other grads for advice and mentorship as they explore industries and opportunities. If you have six or more years of industry experience in the civilian sector and want another way to serve the Long Gray Line, please volunteer to become an Industry Advisor here.

Olmsted

  Olmstead

WPAOG recognized the legacy of General Olmsted, USMA Class of 1922, during the unveiling of the new MG George H. Olmsted Display at the West Point Museum. West Point has a longstanding partnership with the George and Carol Olmsted Foundation. The Foundation's commitment to developing broadly educated leaders is closely aligned with the Academy's, and WPAOG is proud to work alongside the Foundation to provide cadets with outstanding learning opportunities. In total, General Olmsted and the Foundation have given more than $6M to West Point. Learn more.
