80th Anniversary of VJ Day
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. On August 15, 1945, the world celebrated Victory over Japan (VJ) Day as Japan announced its surrender, bringing WWII to an end. Weeks later, on September 2, the official surrender was signed aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, formally closing the war. We honor the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of all who served for peace and freedom, as well as the families who supported them on the home front.
