Every year, the West Point community steps forward to strengthen the services and traditions that honor graduates by making a donation to the Long Gray Line Fund. The Class of 2023 affirmed their commitment to service on August 15 and took the Oath of Affirmation, binding them to complete their next two years of study and a minimum of five years of active-duty military service thereafter. Astronaut William S. McArthur Jr. ’73 was the guest speaker for the evening. Members of the Class of 1973, the 50-year affiliates of the Class of 2023, presented the cadets with commemorative coins to mark the occasion of their affirmed commitment. Photos.

Members of the West Point Class of 2025 officially joined the Corps of Cadets on August 14. The occasion was marked with the traditional Acceptance Day parade on the Plain. An important part of the West Point Association of Graduates 50-Year-Affiliation program is that it connects the senior classes with the current four classes in the Corps of Cadets. The West Point Association of Graduates just launched the official “WPAOG Podcast” accessible from anywhere in the world for online listening. This initiative is focused on tailored audible communications to further inform our Alumni on current AOG projects, events, and USMA updates all while focusing on compelling Grad stories. The podcast provides a channel of customized content for USMA Alumni and the West Point Community solely produced and distributed by the West Point Association of Graduates. The nation’s leading universities have played an increasingly large role in the individual SACCs held throughout the year. To accommodate service academy alumni’s growing interest in these opportunities, a new program has been launched—free for all service academy alumni—focused specifically on advanced education. The experience begins with a series of pre-recorded webinars available beginning September 8, followed by a series of weekly live Wednesday webinars:

The Army West Point Athletics 2021 football schedule currently features 12 games, including six home games at Michie Stadium. The first away game against Georgia State is scheduled for September 4, and the first home game against Western Kentucky is scheduled for September 11. Not long now! Video.
